System Requirements

These are the system requirements for both FileMaker Server 11 and FileMaker Server 11 Advanced.

FileMaker Server 11 installs what you need to use PHP including the PHP engine, the FileMaker API for PHP,
sample code, and documentation. If you already have PHP 5.0 or higher, you can choose to keep your
existing installation.

Capacities

The table below lists the tested and theoretical maximum simultaneous connection limits for FileMaker Server 11 and FileMaker Server 11 Advanced. Tested maximums reflect the test configuration and do not represent a guarantee of performance.

* Multiple users can share a single CWP connection. CWP Connections are based on simultaneous request events,
rather than persistent connections.

** Connections are limited only by your hardware and operating system.

Compatibility

FileMaker Server 11 and FileMaker Server 11 Advanced support FileMaker Pro 10/Pro 10 Advanced and FileMaker Pro 9/Pro 9 Advanced databases. While FileMaker Pro 8.x/Pro 8.x Advanced and FileMaker Pro 7/Developer 7 have the same file format as later versions of FileMaker Pro, they are not supported by FileMaker Server 11 and FileMaker Server 11 Advanced due to product obsolescence.

Databases hosted by FileMaker Server 11 will only support the features specific to the client version. For example, FileMaker Pro 10 databases will not support FileMaker Charts, even if hosted by FileMaker Server 11.

Additional Requirements

The Admin Console, PHP Site Assistant, and XSLT Site Assistant work on machines that have network access to FileMaker Server 11. The supported operating systems for these applications are:

TCP/IP; FileMaker Server 11 is limited to 250 simultaneous FileMaker Pro/Pro Advanced client connections and FileMaker Server 11 Advanced does not limit the number of simultaneous FileMaker Pro/Pro Advanced client connections; each FileMaker Pro/Pro Advanced client requires a licensed copy of FileMaker Pro/Pro Advanced 9, 10 or 11.
